The Turn of Another Year

New Years Eve will always be bittersweet for me.
My baby,

How did you get to be Nine?
This little girl has taught me
so many things.
To love, to live, to give, to look at random butterflies,
to appreciate the small things, to be awed at the big things.
As the year closes I look back ever so wistfully
at the year and years gone by.
